Clinical Results
Restorative Marine Moisturizer Key Ingredients
Conclusion: The average person tested in this study over 28 days showed an average reduction of up to 33% in facial wrinkles, and in appearance, an age drop from 44 years to 38 years of age.
Measurement of Hydration
Skin impedance measurements were taken on contra-lateral sides of the faces of ten subjects in triplicate and then averaged. At the end of a five-day skin equilibration period, the average reading for the group was 94 + 10.3, indicative of a very dry facial skin. On this same evening, all subjects applied the Red Marine Algae, Polypeptides and Polysaccharides in the Restorative Marine Moisturizer to their faces per protocol. Readings were taken the following morning after subjects had washed their faces (at least 2 hours earlier) with a mild soap. Average impedance of 107.3 (up 14%) was recorded, confirming a substantial increase in moisture content. On Day 14 of continual daily use of the Red Marine Algae, Polypeptides and Polysaccharides in the Restorative Marine Moisturizer, impedance was found to have increased to 161 (up 71%) and at day 28, a value of 224 (+138%) was observed. These results demonstrate that a single use of Red Marine Algae, Polypeptides and Polysaccharides in the Restorative Marine Moisturizer super-hydrated the dry skin and moisture content continued to increase hroughout the 4-week period.
Measurement of Facial Wrinkles
Facial wrinkles were measured clinically on 20 subjects and showed an average reduction of 33% over 28 days. Trained clinicians independently evaluated wrinkles around the eye and mouth region. Additionally, 10 randomly chosen subjects had Silflo replica impressions of the skin surface taken and quantified via image analysis.
After skin equilibration, the 20 subjects had an average wrinkle score of 14.4. Based on historical data, this corresponds to an average biological age of 44 years. After a single usage on Day 1, no reduction in SFL's was observed. After 14 days, a score of 11.0 (-28%) was determined and at study end (28 days), an average score of 9.7 (-33%) reflects a biological age of about 38 years.
